How to start writing an assignments
Student successful completion of a writing assignment begins with an assignment for the instructor, the creation of a detailed assignment description. It is not enough to announce in class that student should use foolscap size paper. An effective assignment description contains as much detail as is necessary to communicate to students the assignment purpose and the steps students must take to achieve that purpose and to receive a favorable evaluation. The following links detail the assignment writing process and direct instructors to additional assistance and resources.
The lists of suggested questions are for students to practice. Although optional, we recommend that students solve these questions, as they will help them in preparing for exams as well as in clearing the important concepts of the subject.
Planning: Read the assignments carefully. Go through the Units on which they are based. Make some points regarding each question and then rearrange them in a logical order.
Organisation: Be a little selective and analytic before drawing up a rough outline of your answer. Give adequate attention to your introduction and conclusion.
Make sure that your answer:
A) is logical and coherent;
B) has clear connections between sentences and paragraphs; and
C) is written correctly giving adequate consideration to your expression, style and presentation.
Presentation: Once you are satisfied with your answer, you can write down the final version for submission, writing each answer neatly and underlining the points you wish to emphasise.
The assignment will consist of two parts, I and II. Part I will have two long answer question, consists of two questions out of which you have to attempt any one. The question carries 25 marks and should be answered in about 700 words. Part II will have eight short answer question, consists of eight questions. Attempt any five in about 500 words. Each question carries 15 marks.
There is a format to write down name, enrolment number, subject code, assignment code, address, study centre code, your signature this format is there in your programme guide. and also u need to attach the “acknowledgement cum remittance slip” on each of the assignment. This slip is there in our prgramme guide make photocopies and attach it on the coverage just below the above mentioned format but attach it in a way so that when u submit your assignment then can tear up the counterfoil and give it to u after putting their seal on it. You should write each assignment separately not together as they will be evaluated by different counselors at your study centre not by one and don’t forget to attach each question paper at the back of the cover page of each assignment.
We also have to incorporate the chart, diagram, figure and tables. That relates the statements and makes those authentic. These figures in coloured from attracted to examiner and help them to easy understanding. It is useful if we have lacking in written statement, these diagram fill the gap and make possible to understand both the depth and range of the assignment.
You can write on both sides of the paper. If you are attaching the question paper then if you wish don’t write the questions no always count the words you can write 20-30 words extra. Don’t count the paragraphs count the words don’t follow your friend just go the way I told you or do whatever you think is good.
References– In the last we should have to write the references. Whatever we extract like the definition, equation, theory and statements, we should put and mention the exact reference from where we get those all. These references show our authenticity, transparency and reality of any documented materials.
Wishing you all the best,
